The Ruffians volunteered as manual labor at the Los Alamitos Youth Center Christmas Tree Lot as another one of our many community service activities.
This one-time, $500 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior in high school or a current first-year student in college or vocational school who is an active member of a Masonic Youth Organization including DeMolay • Job’s Daughters • Rainbow Girls and whose Chapter, Bethel or Assembly is located in the counties of Los Angeles • Orange • Riverside • Ventura • San Bernadino • San Diego
Applicants shall submit a 1000-1250 word essay on the topic: The History of Your Youth Organization and How it has Benefitted Masonry in General
The essay must be in English and should be formatted as a PDF using a sans serif font, 12 to 14 point, double spaced, single sided, on letter sized paper. Visually impaired applicants may receive special accommodations upon request. All submissions shall include a completed application and a statement of participation from the leader of your Masonic Youth Organization.
Do not include any identifying information (name, title, etc) in the body of your essay as to ensure anonymity. Your name and contact information should only appear on the application page attached to the front of your essay. Violation of this rule may result in disqualification.

The Ruffians (and a few other Masonic clubs) rode to and participated in the retiring and replacing of the US flag at the Long Beach Scottish Rite, followed by significant fellowship at the “Hiram Fellowship Center”.
